Count Me In Campaign

Coun
t Me In Campaign is a community-style online fundraising event on August 22-24 2008 initiated and coordinated by C. Paschal Eze to help the African American Historical Museum and Cultural Center of Iowa get back on its feet following the June 2008 Iowa floods that damaged the museum.

Donations of $20 and above are welcome from around the world, and as our token of appreciation, donors get to choose to instantly download ebook versions of quality books kindly donated to the Count Me In Campaign by authors in different parts of the US.

100% of all donations go directly to support rebuilding the Museum.

Journey to Freedom: Experience the Underground Railroad in Iowa

Imagine you are a Freedom Seeker - a runaway slave traveling
Iowa's Underground Railroad in 1853. On this journey, you will travel under cover of darkness, encountering slave catchers and bounty hunters, to reach Canada. Will your group make it to freedom or be captured and returned to your owners? Let the African American Museum of Iowa take you back in time to experience the journey's perils and triumphs in this living history event. Journey to Freedom is held at Wickiup Hill Outdoor Learning Center. Please wear comfortable, all-weather clothes and be prepared to walk approximately two miles of uneven terrain. Due to intense subject matter, this program is for individuals 12 years and older. This African American Museum of Iowa program is made possible by a grant from the Witwer Fund-Linn Co. Bd. of Supervisors and in collaboration with Wickiup Hill Outdoor Learning Center.
