e Mile" exhibit has been set for Sunday January 20th in conjunction with the annual introduction of the New York State Stock Car Association's newest Hall of Fame members at the permanent Hall of Fame display in the museum's Racing in New York gallery.
	
The "Double Features" program will kick off at 11 am with the unveiling of the photos and nameplates of noted journalist Les Deuel car owner Art Barry drivers Buzzie Reutimann Maynard Troyer and Bob McCreadie to be inducted the night before at the huge NYSSCA awards banquet in Albany.  The program will include remarks by the inductees able to attend.  

Attention will then turn to the new SYRACUSE MILE exhibit featuring two of Syracuse's most famous stock cars.  One is the '33 Ford coupe on loan from historian and collector Jeff Ackerman that Hall of Fame member Cliff Kotary drove to one of his chart-topping six State Fair victories at Syracuse.  Alongside will be Gary Balough's legendary "Batmobile" on loan from the DIRT Hall of Fame and Museum in Weedsport that changed modified racing forever.  The duo will be joined by a gleaming Offy-powered USAC championship car courtesy of Urbana Ohio historian Bob McConnell that was driven by Ronnie Duman Billy Foster Len Sutton Bob Harkey Lloyd Ruby Ralph Ligouri and New York ace Jim Hurtubise.

The exhibit also features a variety of graphics and memorabilia which along with huge text panels will help bring the story of the fabled New York State Fairgrounds track to life.

The Saratoga Automobile Museum's newest exhibit "Romance of the Roadster" opening February 9 2008 is comprised of seductive models that turn heads like an exquisitely lovely woman crossing a lobby in a fine hotel. They're all convertibles because open cars have always been the definitive sports cars -- and hot rods too. The greatest ones are supremely capable fast and flashy packed with performance and highly desirable. Roadsters have long been the choice of many celebrities for their personal cars. 

"Sure a two-passenger car is selfish but it's eternally sexy" Says Ken Gross curator for the exhibit and internationally renowned automotive journalist. "Roadsters like these help us relive our favorite memories. They complete our four-wheeled fantasies. They're universally admired and as investments they may just appreciate in value. Let's face it you can't take a preferred stock or a bond out for a glorious Sunday drive. That's why we want these cars and we always will." 

The Saratoga Automobile Museum has chosen fifteen red-hot roadsters to tempt you - so come out of the cold and snow and enjoy the dreams of summer. They're all cars that represent improvement in the breed and each comprises a noteworthy step in the evolution of sporting automobiles. These two-seaters all bowed in an innovative period in motoring and they have an indefinable appeal even years after they ceased production. 

Now to some purists roadsters are defined only as a two seat convertible with a soft top and detachable windows but to be fair many of the sleek beauties that came after World War II bowed to progress and added the innovation of  roll-up windows. "Romance of the Roadster" loves and embraces them all and hopes you will too.

The exhibit runs from February 9 - June 1 2008.
