North East Running Events

Good Friday Road RacesThis popular event has been held for
over thirty years in the West End of Newcastle but due to ever increasing traffic the races have been moved to the Newburn Riverside Park. There are seven different events with ages ranging from 11 years to 60 years. The four times 2.2 mile senior event on the Fenham course was the highlight of the programme and the course record of 9 minutes 46 seconds set by Mike McLeod in 1977 will now never be beaten.
