'Walk and Talk'<strong>'Walk and Talk'</strong> with Alvene Kinsey and John Costello A week in the glorious Lake District with guided walks and plenty of time talking and sharing. A time to be refreshed mentally, physically and spiritually. There will be daily walks, designed to show you as much of the Lakes' varied scenery as possible, with chance to talk and socialise. The day is bounded by morning and evening prayer, with free time to shop and do your own thing! This event is designed with the "social walker" in mind, rather than the hardened hiker, and is ideal for everyone, regardless of fitness or experience. If you haven't done it before, now's the time to try something new! John Costello and Alvene Kinsey are URC elders and experienced Lakeland walkers. Cost: £360.00 Click on link below for a PDF version of pamphlet and booking form.

Windermere Weekend of Fellowship, Fresh air and FunSpend a a weekend in the Lake District with Revd Dr Fred Kaa n and Dr Gillian Warson. Dr Warson is a writer, teacher and viola player. She has a particular interest in hymnody and local history and has published 4 books on hymn singing in North Oxfordshire. She has given papers at conferences in Romania and Canda as well as all over the UK and Ireland. She has written a biography of the hymn writer Fred Kaan which is published by Stainer and Bell. On Friday evening, Dr Warson will talk about Fred's experience when his family sheltered a Jewish woman during the occupation of the Netherlands during the Second World War - and the amazing sequel! On Saturday we will all go for a walk or, if you prefer, stay at the Centre and do your own thing. In the evening, Dr Warson will entertain us with a light hearted musical evening. On Sunday we will attend the service at Carver Church and then depart after lunch. Not to be missed! Phone the Centre to book your place now!
